Dogwood #2 by Kelsey Marsh. This was a commissioned piece that came from @festivalinthepark in September. A lovely couple saw Kelsey’s original Dogwood piece and loved it so much they wanted a bigger version. This one measures 48” wide and about 30” tall. The flowers and leaves are all forged to get their unique appearance. The branches welded with texture. And everything heated to an extreme temperature to get that forged black look. We had the pleasure of creating this memorial tree for a local charity, The Splashpaw Foundation, to remember the loved ones(both human and furry) that have been lost by various families in the area. Splashpaw held an event to raise money so they can continue to provide funds for families needing help with medical treatments etc. It was at this event that our ‘Weeping Willow’ was unveiled. We can finally reveal that “not so little” secret project we’ve been working on! In December 2021, the team at Custer State Park in South Dakota, asked us to create a 5’x6’ art piece as well as a donor plaque for their brand new ‘Bison Interpretive Center’. We were shocked and VERY excited at the opportunity. We delivered this piece as a family earlier this month and installed it before the rest of the exhibit was put in place. It’s not often we get to spend time making the needed updates and improvements to our workshop so for the last month, we’ve been making it a priority to get some of our checklist completed. One of the first tasks was getting this grinder and flap disk organizer made and hung. It saves us time and frustration from searching all over for our mighty tools. We know exactly where they are now! Designed and cut on our @maverickcncplasma 5’x10’ table. Welded on some rod for hanging and then thrown in the oven to powder coat using @columbiacoatings Black Lustre. “Are signs and metal decor all you do?” Absolutely not! We also do commercial, industrial and structural metal design and fabrication. We had the opportunity to design and fabricate ventilation panels for a large cargo container used for storing tools. Trust us, it was HOT in there! These vents allow for enough air to circulate within the container so it doesn’t stay so stuffy inside. Made complete with mesh screen so no bugs can enter ❌ Take a look for yourself! What may seem like a simple cart, has so much meaning... A good friend of ours came to us for help to modify his work cart that he is constantly pulling in and out of his work van. After a couple of years, he had figured out what changes it needed in order to make it more user friendly and make his job easier. Why not just replace the cart? Well, this cart was gifted to him by his son, his son that he lost not too long ago. So this work cart is so much more than that, it’s a cherished memory. We were thrilled to be able to help and be the “tools” needed to keep this thing going! We added some tapered rails so the cart could be tipped on its back and loaded into the van without dumping out all of the tools. We also fabricated and mounted a base plate to accommodate a vise. We did a quick touch up paint job and look forward to having this cart back with us for some powder coating to really get it in tip top shape. Ever wondered why we’re called Tilted Knight Metal designs? Well, we thought we would share the story behind the name... So the story goes like this- Dave and his son Philip, both avid motorcycle enthusiasts, decided in 2009 and 2010 to put on some week-long motorcycle trips along with a bunch of their close friends. Of course, this "gang" would need a name! So giving consideration to their shared affinity for bikes and craft beer, we came up with the name "Tilted Knights". Sadly, in late 2018 we lost our dear son,brother and friend, Philip, suddenly to a rare and previously unknown genetic disorder. As we developed our business concept, again, we needed a name. The family agreed that Tilted Knight Metal Designs was perfect! This name would speak to the medium that we work with, but would also always be a "nod" to Philip. **NEW** “Birds on a Wire” is a one of a kind, hand made, metal art piece that can sit on your mantle or hang on your wall. This piece was hand drawn, then plasma cut using our CNC plasma machine. We then hammered and shaped the metal, by hand, to create movement. After welding the 10 individual pieces together, we made the frame using 1/2” square tube, to pull everything together. We wanted to keep a natural and neutral finish to this art piece so instead of paint, we used a meticulous rusting process to create a unique finish. We top it off with multiple layers of a protective clear coat. Dimensions: 16”H x 34”W **Two mounting holes have been drilled into the back of the frame for easy hanging.
